MEET CHRISTINA
Christina has had the privilege of working with children and families for over 20 years, as an Early Childhood Educator, an Infant & Toddler Music Specialist, a Fostercare & Adoption Social Worker and Child & Family Therapist.
Christina earned her MS in Marriage & Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. She provided therapy for elementary and high school students in Pasadena. She continued to work as a therapist at the Help Group, working with preschool age children who were experiencing trauma, social, emotional and behavioral challenges. Christina has also provided therapy for adult clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief and loss.
As a clinician, Christina utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic therapy with her clients, as well as Play Therapy techniques with children.
She is passionate about supporting children and families through challenging and difficult life circumstances. She believes that, sometimes "The kids who need the most love will ask for it in the most unloving ways", that "Beneath every behavior there is a feeling. And beneath every feeling there is a need. And when we meet that need rather than focus on the behavior, we begin to deal with the cause not the symptom".
Currently accruing hours towards licensure, Christina is only accepting cash clients and has a reduced out-of-pocket cash rate of $50/session. To schedule an appointment please call her at 808-388-4615 or email cpon.paradigm@gmail.com. An initial 10 minute Zoom consultation is available for a parent/caregiver and child to meet and connect with Christina.
