OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19:
Effective March 23, 2020
To our valued clients,
We are in an unprecedented time with worldwide concerns regarding COVID-19. As news and updates change rapidly, we have decided it is in the best interest of our counselors, clients and their families, to close our office for in-office sessions. We have now moved sessions to be conducted via telehealth. We understand that this will certainly cause a disruption in our normal way of doing things, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this will be/has been. We will plan on continuing to offer telehealth indefinitely, until the situation with COVID-19 is under control. Rest assured that we are staying on top of the latest news developments and are only making changes as approved by the American Psychological Association, and by our state and federal government. Once we go back to in-office visits, your counselor will give you the option of staying with telehealth or resuming in person.
While a small portion of our practice has been utilizing telehealth for some time now, for many of our clients, telehealth is a new way of having sessions. I know many of you may have questions and concerns regarding telehealth. Please read through the telehealth informed consent as we hope it will address many of your questions. Please know that while there is some risk to telehealth (as outlined in the telehealth consent form), studies have shown that it can be as effective as a face-to-face, in-person session. Of our clients who have utilized telehealth, many if not all of them, prefer this method as it provides convenience, in some cases less financial constraints, and easier scheduling.
