OUR UPDATED POLICIES IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19:
Effective March 23, 2020 with an update effective May 1, 2021
To our valued clients,
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership with us over the last year. We are in an unprecedented time with worldwide concerns regarding COVID-19. In 2020, as news and updates changed rapidly, we decided it was in the best interest of our counselors, clients and their families, to close our office for in-person sessions. We moved all sessions to be conducted via telehealth. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and patience as we navigated an online way of business. Now that we are in tier 3, and more of the community is getting vaccinated, a few of our staff are now open to having in-person sessions. While the bulk of our case loads will remain online, if you would like to schedule in-person, please let us know. Due to different family situations on our staff, there will only be a few in-person slots available, and any in-person session will be offered on a case by case basis. Any client returning to the office must follow our in-person policies, which is available on this page. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Rest assured that we are staying on top of the latest news developments and are only making changes as approved by the American Psychological Association, and by our state and federal government. Please know that we are encouraging everyone to stay with telehealth, if possible, and are not requiring anyone to return to the office. Once we can offer more hours in the office, we will let you know.
I know many of you may have questions and concerns regarding telehealth. Please read through the telehealth informed consent as we hope it will address many of your questions. Please know that while there is some risk to telehealth (as outlined in the telehealth consent form), we have found it to be as effective as a face-to-face, in-person session. Of our clients who have utilized telehealth, many if not all of them, prefer this method as it provides convenience, in some cases less financial constraints, and easier scheduling. I also know that many of us are experiencing “zoom fatigue” and we are doing our best to accommodate those who’d rather meet in-person.
